The GROUNDHOG is for ground-handling.
Ground-handling is one of the most important aspects of paragliding progression. With the Groundhog, pilots can progress and learn the most basic or most advanced aspects of ground-handling in wind conditions where normal paragliders become more difficult to manage. Because of its ease of use in higher wind, schools and students will lose less training days because of weather. The smaller size of the Groundhog makes it generally simpler and easier to use. Students are less likely to be dragged or picked up, and the wing’s quick reactions to brake input and footwork help to accelerate the progression of the pilot.
This is a small and simple design for easy training in high winds. The primary purpose of the Groundhog is to practice ground-handling in higher winds than normal paragliders can manage easily. This wing is not for flight!
“I put it to proper use with 2 students today completely new to kiting. By the end of the day both were kiting almost perfectly on M size wings. The Groundhog allows the student to quickly get to grips with the brake inputs, balance and body movements required to kite, without completely exhausting themselves. The wing flying overhead, falling onto one side, or flipping over can be quickly remedied and the student is soon ready to inflate it again. Much less stressful for me as I don’t see my wings crashing down on their leading edges constantly and they can get much more practice in before a break is required!”
